Not all yoghurts are created equal!
Yoghurt is commonly recommended by dietitians as the perfect snack for athletes – it’s high in protein to assist with muscle recovery, a good source of probiotics for gut health and high in calcium to maintain bone density. Pair it with a piece of fruit and you have the perfect balance of protein and carbs to fuel your body pre or post-workout!
But if you look closely at the nutrition panels of different brands, you’ll realise that there can be a massive difference between both the protein content and sugar content (from added sugar). There can be a difference of 11.6g of protein per 200g serving of natural yoghurt, and a difference of 22.8g (or 4.5 teaspoons) of sugar per 200g serving of flavoured yoghurt.
