In response to the COVID-19 health crisis, Precision Athletica is please to launch online consultations with all of our Sports Physio’s, Exercise Physiologists and Strength Coaches. For those people who are unable to leave their homes, or who can’t make it to our centre, you can now have consults from the comfort of your own home, via convenient video calls, arranged by us.
All Services Available Online
Here's an overview of what we'll do for you online:
We conduct an initial assessment so we can completely understand what’s bothering you, or understand your performance limitations and lifestyle in general. Your therapist or coach will then walk you through a series of relevant movements and tests to help them determine the best approach and what will be the easiest and most effective work for you to do at home.
From here, we get to work on a treatment or performance plan.
Our team is highly skilled in determining what must happen straight away to either get rid of your pain, or in performance cases, start progressing you to the next level. You’ll be amazed how much can be achieved from home and our guidance will be focussed on helping you to fast track your development or recovery.
Once we’re across your current state, it is crucial to determine why you got injured, or why you’re not performing at a higher level. We will figure out why you are where you are, what is causing the problem or slower progress than desired, and what needs to happen to elevate you from here. Using our Precision Performance Pyramid, we show you the steps to improved performance, ensuring that we create an individualised personal home plan to suit you.
Is There Any Proof Online Consultations Work?
Yes, research shows that online consultations can be just as effective as face-to-face consults. Studies have found no increase in diagnosis error compared to face-to-face consultations, and studies have also shown similar or better outcomes through online consultations.
How Does An Online Consultation Work?
After you have booked your online consultation (and that can be with either a Sports Physio, Exercise Physiologist or Strength Coach), we will send you an email containing a link to join your therapist or coach on a secure and private video call, using our approved Telehealth technology. At the time of your appointment, you will need to click the link to join our team member online.
You can join the session on either a computer with built in camera, or a smart phone with built in camera. From there our team will walk you through everything that you need to do in order for us to diagnose your problem, provide relief, conduct assessment and start to provide continued care or performance guidance.
We would suggest that when you have your session, you place yourself in a well lit room that has enough space for you to perform some basic exercises in view of the camera. Ideally have a stable camera and wear some lose fitting clothes.
What If I Don't Have Equipment?
It’s not a problem if you don’t have any specific equipment at home, you might be surprised by how much can be achieved with body weight movements only. If you do need equipment of some sort, our team will give you suggestions of alternatives based on the common household objects that you do have to hand.
