Athlete Testing

Athlete Testing

Holistic approach to profiling an athlete. Testing includes Maximal Aerobic Power Testing, Skin Folds, and Trunk & Hip Strength Assessment. This battery of testing enables an athlete to individualise training zones, estimate FTP and VO2max, and highlight areas to address off the bike to further improve performance on it.

What is this assessment?

Athlete Testing takes a holistic approach in screening athletes. It involves assessing:

  • Body composition with skinfold testing which provides information on how to target nutrition to improve performance. Cycling performance is closely linked to body composition when looking at how power to weight ratio plays a role in improving performance.
  • Lower body strength and trunk strength assesses an athlete’s ability to produce force and how symmetrical the force production is. It assists in highlighting areas of weakness to focus on off the bike.
  • Max Aerobic Power testing to assess the athlete’s power profile to individualise the athlete’s on bike training.

Duration: 2.0 hours

Who is this assessment designed for?

This assessment is designed for cyclists and triathletes looking for a holistic approach to endurance training. It gives athletes baseline measures for strength training and body composition and allows us to assist them in athletic improvement on and off the bike.
